Departing from Melbourne CBD, your first cheese tasting experience is at 10:30am where you will savour a selection of cheeses matched carefully with wine. Your guide will unveil the flavour profiles of each cheese and wine combination as you indulge in creamy, bitey, fruity cheese flavours teamed with cool climate wines.
Continue your cheese lovers’ journey to meet an artisan cheese maker. Learn about traditional European cheese and yogurt making processes as you sample seasonal selections, champagne-infused cheese, chocolate-infused cheese, fresh goats’ cheese and even mystery flavoured cheese sensations you may not have heard about. These cheeses are produced with Italian flair, tradition and style.
Next up is lunch at the famous Domaine Chandon, boasting exquisite gardens and views of the Great Dividing Range. Here you'll be treated to one of the best tables in the house overlooking the panoramic countryside with row upon row of grapes. Tuck into a delicious three course meal featuring seasonal fare with a French twist, complemented with a glass of champagne, before embarking on a behind the scenes tour not otherwise available to the public. Smell the wine and oak barrels, view the bottles of bubbles aligned on every wall and continue through the vineyard to learn about the grape to bottle process.
At your next fromage stop, you'll enjoy a generous selection of imported cheeses and platter delights before you are taken off-the-beaten-track to a meet local personality. Here you'll finish the afternoon with a generous serving of seasonal produce including cheeses, fruits and nuts before making the scenic journey back to Melbourne.
