Join Olympic shooter and gold medalist Suzy Balogh and her wonderful team for a shooting range experience that will leave you feeling exhilarated! This session allows you to practice hitting moving clay targets with real 12 gauge shotguns and live ammo.
Upon arrival at the outdoor shooting range, you'll fill in all the necessary forms and get kitted up in your shooting jacket, safety glasses and earplugs. You'll then be run through a comprehensive safety briefing which covers how to handle the gun safely, how to hold it and how the ammunition works. You will then fire at clay targets from safety frames with one-on-one instruction from expert instructors, many of whom are part of the Australian Olympic Shooting team. Begin with easy single incoming targets, and once your aim gets better and you feel more confident, the targets will become harder to shoot. Doubles, pairs, outgoing and crossing targets will reveal who is the best and most accurate shooter. As a memento of your session, you'll take home an autographed clay target.
Minimum age of participants is 12 years. Participants 12-18 years must have a parent or a court appointed legal guardian present throughout the session. Unlicensed participants need to be able to answer “no” to all of the questions on the P650 good behaviour police declaration. Participants will need to Complete and Sign the P650 declaration form provided to them on the day, in front of Hitting Targets staff. The P650 good behaviour police declaration questions are listed on this page under "guidelines" or you can visit our website for the actual questions and print friendly copy https://hittingtargets.com.au/essential-info/
Those with injuries that would not be able to shoot safely should not participate or they should get clearance from their doctor e.g. neck or shoulder injuries
Group size is usually between 10-16 people. A minimum of 8 participants on the day is required for the session to proceed.
Spectators are welcomed. However, persons under 18 years require adult supervision.
Sessions may be cancelled/postponed due to extreme weather conditions. You cannot shoot in electrical storms, hail, torrential rain and extreme heat.
