Relax on the pure white sand, beach comb for treasures, lay in the shallow crystal waters or snorkel straight off the cay and discover the magic of the underwater world. The experience is complete with gourmet picnic hamper and sparkling wine and helicopter return to Cairns.

Session Length

This experience is 3 hours in duration, consisting of 2 hours on the cay and approximately 40 minute scenic flight time.

Restrictions

Please note, Vlasoff and Undine Sand Cay are public sand cays that cannot be reserved. While no refunds apply if occupied on arrival, alternative arrangements are discussed and confirmed at booking.

Guidelines

  • Participants must be over the age of 18 to consume alcohol during this experience
  • Due to World Heritage permit restrictions, the helicopter is unable to land if the cay is occupied. In this event, an alternate private beach location will be provided
  • Weight Policy: Individual passenger weights and accompanying carry-on luggage MUST be advised at time of booking. Weight variances greater than 10% may incur an additional fee. Maximum single seat payload of 130kg. For passenger comfort and aircraft weight and balance, passengers exceeding 130kg are required to purchase an additional seat at 50% of ticket price
  • We recommend you are checked in 45 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time at Pier Heliport for Fly / Cruise product
  • Check-in will close 30 minutes before departure and you will not be able to check in after this time
  • When planning your arrival at your departure point please ensure you allow enough time to check in. Failure to adhere to check-in times, may result in you missing your flight and forfeiting the fare paid

Cancellation

  • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
  • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
  • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

Other Info

There is an EPA ruling that prevents any helicopter company from landing on the sand cay if it is already occupied. Exclusivity cannot be guaranteed by any operator as the cay is open to boats and the public. If by chance another operator or members of the public are already there, we would then take an extra scenic flight to Turtle Beach, which is a lovely beach south of Cairns.

This experience takes place on Vlasoff Sand Cay on the Great Barrier Reef. The helicopter departs from Cairns QLD.
