Restrictions

All Able & Disabled passengers are able to balloon, although limitations do apply due to the Civil Aviation and Safety Authority (CASA) regulations and internal operations manual. The supplier recommends that if you have a pre-existing medical condition, recovering from recent surgery, or have a disability - to seek medical advice and consult with your doctor to check if you may be affected by the physical nature of hot air ballooning before making a booking and participating in a balloon flight. Disabled passengers are able to balloon, although limitations do apply due to the CASA regulations. CASA requires that all passengers are able to embark and disembark a balloon basket unassisted for safety reasons. There are no wheelchair facilities available for the duration of the ballooning experience. If in doubt, an able bodied person must accompany the "slightly infirm" passenger. The supplier will not knowingly fly any passenger at any stage of their pregnancy.

Guidelines

• Children are welcome and must be accompanied by a paying adult. The child must be able to see over the edge of the basket (1.2m high) unaided by any person or objects for safety reasons. Infants are not permitted due to the Civil Aviation and Safety Authority (CASA) regulations and guidelines
• Please advise the booking office if you are over 90 kilograms or have any medical issues
• Anyone over 115kg may incur a 50% surcharge, payable direct to the supplier. Due to safety factors passengers over 130kg cannot participate in hot air ballooning
• All passengers must complete and sign a standard company Registration, Medical Check and Assumption of Risk form before the flight
• Please contact the booking office prior to the flight of any concerns.
• As the flight is for approximately 1 hour, passengers must be able to stand unaided for the duration of the flight. (i.e.: no additional aids such as seats, walkers, sticks or crutches are permitted in the basket). If in doubt, an able bodied person (friend, relative or carer) must accompany the "slightly infirm" passenger.

Cancellation

• Change your booking up to 14 days before the start time of your experience
• Changes are not permitted within 14 days of your experience. T & C's apply.
• Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience
• Any flight altered or cancelled between 8 and 14 days prior to flight date – will incur a $25 cancellation fee per person deducted from your refund or full credit will held against the re-booking of your flight
• Any flight altered or cancelled within 3 - 7 days of the flight date - will incur a $50 cancellation fee per person deducted from your refund or full credit will held against the re-booking of your flight
• Any flight date altered or cancelled within 3 days (72 hours) of the flight date & time will be forfeited.
• Any request for a refund will incur a $25 Administration fee payable to the supplier; this may be deducted from your Red Balloon credit or payable direct.

Numbers on the Day

Minimum of four and a maximum of 10 passengers per flight. In the event that minimum numbers are not met, the experience provider reserves the right to reschedule your experience for a later date.

Spectators

If a friend or family member wishes to be a non-flying participant & watch the balloon activities from the ground alongside the crew, they are more than welcome in their own transportation. If family or friends wish to join the after flight restaurant breakfast, bookings can be made direct with the supplier after your flight booking is confirmed - $20 per child (up to 12 years) & $30 per adult restaurant breakfast charge for non-flying participants, with 24 hours notice required.

Weather

Please telephone the booking office, the night prior to the flight between 7.00 - 7.30 pm to confirm flight time and weather conditions. This experience is completely weather dependent. In the event of poor weather, the experience provider will reschedule your experience for a later date.

Dress Code

Hot air ballooning is an outdoor, early morning, soft adventure activity. Comfortable layers of outdoor clothing to match the season are recommended, a hat and sturdy shoes for the morning dew. No open foot wear or high heels are permitted.

Public Holiday Note: After-flight restaurant breakfast component of this tour may not be available on Public Holidays, pending external restaurant supplier opening hours. Customers will be notified prior to flight if this is to occur.
