Get an introduction to Kangaroo Island life - the wildlife, food, wine and rugged landscapes. Travelling by 4WD you’ll get to explore and bushwalk through parts of Cygnet Valley and the Stokes Bay region. You’ll find plenty of kangaroos, seals and wallabies and koalas along the way!
See the best of Kangaroo Island on this day tour with the help of a knowledgable guide. Start the tour with a cuppa and some homemade cakes before setting off for a walk through tall Eucalypts where koalas nap overhead - perhaps waking briefly for some food. Travel through some of the Island's best farming country and share stories with your friendly guide.
Your guide will answer all your questions about Kangaroo Island and explain how the isolation of this special part of South Australia impacts the ecology of the area. You'll discover wallabies almost extinct on the mainland, a species of kangaroo unique to the Island and a whole range of other animals and plants.
Break for lunch at a private location in the bush. Dine on BBQ King George Whiting and fresh salads, washing it all down with a few glasses of South Australian wine. The afternoon consists of walking along Seal Bay, among the groups of wild sea lions that call this breathtaking spot home. Note: solo travellers can join exisiting departures.
This experience is part of the Responsible range because they are ECO certified by Ecotourism Australia.
This experience is best suited to people with a reasonable mobility level. There are elements of the day where you will be walking on uneven ground over a variety of natural surfaces and at Seal Bay there is a walk of about 1 km round trip over sealed path, boardwalk, steps and soft sand. Children from 6 years and up are welcome on this small group tour, for kids under that age it is best to book a private tour.
Please note: gluten-free, kosher, non-seafood, vegan or any other special dietary needs can be catered for but you must advise the tour provider at the time of booking. The dining locations are remote and the providers take everything from their kitchens along on the day.
This tour is a private tour. No one else will be on the tour but you and your group. You can book it as a 'for 2' or 'for 4'.
The tour goes ahead rain or shine - it is an outdoor experience and we have a choice of locations for breaks which are comfortable in a variety of weather conditions. The only condition where locations will be changed is if the day is classed as a "Catastrophic Fire Danger Day" - in this event all National Parks and Wildlife Reserves are closed so your tour will be altered.
Sensible, comfy walking shoes. Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses. Long pants to protect your legs against in the bush. A jacket for ocean breezes - even when it's warm. A backpack.
This day tour happens on Kangaroo Island, SA.

That’s 10% of the Australian population! When we started ‘doing’ experiences in 2001, Facebook didn’t exist; the iPod had just been invented; John Howard was Prime Minister; and Destiny's Child were popular (yikes!). We’ve been at this business of experiences for quite a while, so put your trust in us to show you a good time.
