Catch your first wave in the stunning Port Stephens with this 90 minute group surf lesson where you will learn from qualified surf coaching professional. All surf boards, wetsuits and rash shirts are included so all you have to do is have fun with your friends or family!
Get ready for a whole lot of fun with this 90 minute group surf lesson in the stunning sparkling blue bay of Port Stephens. This lesson is perfect for beginners and will teach you the basics of surfing and beach safety, guided by qualified, professional and friendly surf coaches. The lessons are conducted in waist deep water to get you familiar with the water and surfing, then steadily progressing to the 3-step stand up technique. You will also be taught how to navigate the ocean, paddle, catch white water waves and which is the best stand up technique for different kinds of waves. All equipment is also included so you just have to turn up and have a great time learning a new skill with your friends or family.
The session length is 90 minutes.
The group lessons can have up to 16 participants, and a minimum of 2. If there is LESS than 4 people in the group lesson it will only run for 1 hour.
Spectators are allowed. Grab a coffee from the local cafe while you watch on from the sand. Public toilets are close by near the car park.
Surf lessons will not be cancelled when it rains, surf lessons run in all weather conditions providing it is safe to do so. If there is a need to cancel the lesson due to dangerous surf conditions you will be contacted to organise another day or you will be provided with a gift card.
You will be provided with all the equipment needed: wetsuit, rash shirt, board and sunscreen. If you do have your own wetsuit however, feel free to wear that one if you feel more comfortable. Please bring along your swimmers, towel and water.
Please note, you may have to share your waves with the local dolphins that frequent one of the four beaches during your lesson!
This experience takes place at Port Stephens Surf School on Hannah Parade, One Mile Beach.
