Discover the wonders of the cosmos on this enlightening dark sky tour! Departing Mannum, you'll enjoy a pub meal at Swan Reach Hotel before exploring an ancient rock shelter. Then, travel to a stargazer's delight perched on top of the tallest Murray River cliff and get lost in the starry night sky.
The magical starlit canopy above us tells a wonderful story. This stargazing experience will leave you starry-eyed as you learn more about the night sky from expert astronomers at the iconic River Murray International Dark Sky Reserve. Departing from the picturesque town of Mannum, enjoy a scenic drive that hugs the Murray River before arriving at the Swan Reach Hotel for a hearty pub meal. Perched atop golden cliffs, take delight in spectacular views of the River as you tuck into your meal. You'll then head to an ancient rock shelter believed to be 5000 years old and one of South Australia's most significant Aboriginal cultural sites, to learn more about the Aboriginal Dreaming from your guide.
And then for the main event, you'll head to the top of the Murray River Cliffs for an awe-inspiring stargazing experience. Renowned as one of the darkest places on earth, viewers can see up to an estimated 5000 stars at this site. Feel utter bliss as you get lost in the twinkling canopy above. You'll get to peak through an amazing telescope to view stars, constellations, planets, clusters and galaxies. Feel free to bring your own digital camera and tripod to receive tips on how to connect to the starry night sky.

Cloud forecasts are unreliable until the day of tour departure. In the event of weather prohibiting your Dark Sky tour from proceeding, you will be contacted as soon as possible and offered to reschedule.
Flat, enclosed shoes are recommended. Dress warm as it can get cold at night time, even in summer.
