Have you always wanted to fly an airplane? Make your dream a reality with a 30 minute trial introductory flight at Narromine aerodrome. Your experience starts with a briefing on pre flight checks and what to expect, after which you'll take to the skies with your instructor. You'll fly the aircraft yourself, learning the basics of flying with 'stick and rudder' and 'power and attitudes', with stunning views as a backdrop. This hands on experience provides a solid foundation for flying all types of aircraft. It's an unforgettable adventure that could be the beginning of your aviation journey!

Session Length

  • The flight duration is 30 minutes
  • Please allow additional time for a pre flight briefing and debrief. The total experience time is approximately 1.5 hours
  • Available seven days a week

Guidelines

    • Participants must be in good health with no major medical illness
    • No experience is required; you will be supervised by an expert instructor at all times
    • No heavy drinking the night before and a decent breakfast on the morning are recommended
    • If you are 75 or over or have specified medical conditions listed of: epilepsy, diabetes, heart conditions/disease or paralysis, or any other medically significant safety related condition, you must not exercise privileges of a Recreational Pilot Certificate or be Pilot in Command until a medical statement from your GP is provided
    • A Temporary Membership Form must be completed for any participant at: https://www.raa.asn.au/application-for-membership/
    • For participants under 18, a Junior Flying Declaration must be completed by an adult or a guardian at: https://raaus.com.au/wp-content/uploads/2023/02/mem009-junior-flying-declaration-1-2.pdf
    • Maximum weight limit is 120kg
    • Maximum height is 190cm
    • Although there is technically no minimum age limit it is recommended that the participant is able to reach the controls to make the most of the experience. Cushions are supplied if required
    • The participant must be of an age and cognitive capacity to understand and act upon/respond to instructions provided in English
    • Medical advice to be sought if participant is pregnant

    Cancellation

    • Change your booking up to 48 hours before the start time of your experience
    • Changes are not permitted within 48 hours of your experience
    • Late arrivals or no shows may result in you forfeiting your experience

    Numbers on the Day

    This is a private experience with just you and your instructor.

    Spectators

    Family members are able to spectate. There is a bathroom, shower, fridge, sink and plastic chairs available. Spectators must not go airside and stay within boundaries shown.

    Weather

    Flights cannot go ahead in certain weather conditions. These include windy and gusty conditions, reduced visibility, low clouds, and storm activity. Thermal activity in summer conditions may make flights that are booked in the hottest part of the day less comfortable. If booking in hot conditions, early or later times are preferred to make the experience as pleasant as possible for you.

    Dress Code

    Please wear comfortable, moveable and breathable clothes as it can get quite warm in the cockpit. Sunglasses are a must as the glare off clouds can be quite severe. A cap is also recommended. Please wear closed in shoes. Avoid dresses and thick soled shoes. No thongs/sandals permitted during flight.
